This first battle was incredibly easy and made me think they were just giving us a tutorial run at how Struggle was played. They had hoped to face off in the finals, but instead it will be the first round of the tournament. Our first match will be against Roxas’s best friend Hayner. The round will end once a player reaches 200 orbs or if the 60 second timer runs out. We’ll want to make sure we finish our combos in order to grab as many orbs as possible. Basic hits will knock out less orbs than a finishing attack will. Those orbs can be collected by either player once they’re on the field. Each person starts with 100 orbs and hitting them will knock the orbs out. On the fourth day, Roxas will head over to the sandlot where the Struggle Tournament is being held. The day will wrap up with more memories of Sora, and we can get prepared for day 4. Roxas will return back to the same spot in town he was in before he entered the Station of Serenity.
Once the battle is over Roxas will gain an increase to his Maximum HP and will also learn the Guard technique. I’m not sure if it’s possible to defeat him without getting into the second full reaction command chain, but I wasn’t able to “one-phase” the gigantic boss. I got into a second imprisoned encounter, where the final reaction command defeated the boss. Killing the little enemies running around will help regain health. This helped me get around enemies multiple times to help land attacks needed to get the final kill on them. The next phase is highly dependent on the use of the Reversal skill.
Once the third one is completed, the Nobody will be on the ground and we can get some attacks in. We’ll just need to use the Y button prompts when they pop up. We’re immediately imprisoned by the monster. The information in the top left corner tells us that we should use Reaction Commands to defeat it. Stepping through the door, we’ll see this gigantic Nobody. Before reaching the next door, we should be level 2, and Roxas’s defense will increase. The next area is called the Station of Calling.
